Hi everyone and welcome to the blog for and from the farmers workers and friends here at Cedar Mountain Farm at Cobb Hill Cohousing. This blog along with the calendar, thank you Google, will help everyone keep up with goings on in the barn, fields, and community that make up CMF.
The days are getting longer, the sap is starting to flow out of the sugar bush. Ken and company are busy boiling up what will prove to be one of the best sugar years out of the last few. Not only for Cobb Hill Maple Syrup, but likely for many sugar makers in region.

On the farm Stephan and Kerry are digging out the green houses and planting the first of the starts for this years CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) garden. More…Onions, peppers, eggplants and tomatoes are among the first things to get going this year. Along with this Kerry, for the first time, is taking orders of starts for us lay gardener. It is a great looking list:

* Leeks
* Yellow storage onions
* Basil
* Parsley
* Green Peppers
* Colored Peppers
* Sweet and Spicy Peppers
* Hot Peppers
* Beef Steak Tomatoes
* Heirloom Tomatoes
* Cherry Tomatoes
* Fancy Tomatoes
* Plum Tomatoes
* Eggplant (Big, Little, Pink, & Striped)
* Cucumbers
* Zucchini.
* More things available for special order!

Some other news is that Kerry is starting to plan out this years weekly CSA news letter, and rumor has it that it will include a regular spot from Peter Allison, Matt Starr will be contributing as well with some more in depth articles. We will also be looking to them and others for contribution to the blog as well!
Though all these signs of spring are starting we are sill a ways off even from mud season, yet it is exiting to starting dreaming about warmth a the smell of the earth.

Thanks, Zach
